J.J.'s Q-AND-A FOR JULY 2

O.K., here’s Part II of the question-and-answer session recently conducted with Orlando Magic guard J.J. Redick.

Part I of the Q-and-A ran here on the site earlier in the week and Part III will appear next week. Enjoy!

======================

Q: How do you feel about college players leaving early for the NBA?

J.J.: I think if college players or high school players can play in the NBA, then I think they should be allowed to do so. People make the argument all the time that it hurts the game, but I don’t think Kobe, Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady and Dwight Howard all turned out just fine. People need to understand that this is a business and we have a…

Q-AND-A WITH J.J. FOR JUNE 29

Orlando Magic guard J.J. Redick celebrated his 25th birthday last week in Orlando with friends. Redick recently finished his finest season in the NBA, helping the Orlando Magic reach the NBA Finals.

The third-year shooting guard averaged 6.0 points and 1.9 assists in 16 playoff games, eight of which were starts. His best playoff performance came in the clinching Game 6 against Philadelphia when J.J. scored 15 points, hit five 3-pointers and handed out four assists.

J.J. took time out of his offseason recently to answer questions from his fans. Remember, you too, can submit a question for J.J., here at redicklive.com. We’ll sprinkle in several Question-and-Answer segments on the site here throughout the…

MY BLOG -- JUNE 22

Well, it’s been a little more than a week since our season ended and I still can’t get that image of the Lakers celebrating on our homecourt out of my head. It still hurts thinking about being so close to winning a championship and not closing the deal.

Now that we’ve had some time away I’m able to better appreciate all that we accomplished this season. Getting to The Finals was an amazing run, especially when few thought we even had a chance of making it that far.

We won 59 games in the regular season and had some huge wins along the way. And in the playoffs, we won that Game 6 in Philly when we…

MY BLOG -- JUNE 17

We met yesterday for the last time as a team and that was kind of hard for all of us because we felt like we should still be playing. Even though losing still stings, we’re starting to realize now what we accomplished was something special. We had a nice buzz in the city for a few weeks and gave people something to be excited about.

Getting through the playoffs and to The Finals was a big step forward for us and we’re headed in the right direction now. We were three wins away from a championship. To be so close is disappointing and frustrating, but we’ll have time to reflect and start getting ready for next year. ...

MY GAME 5 FINALS BLOG

We didn’t want to have to watch the Lakers celebrate at all, but to have it happen on our homecourt last night was really hard to watch. (And by the way, what was up with all of those Lakers fans, in the crowd at Amway Arena? How did that happen? But that’s another story, I guess.)

It was a helluva run getting to the Finals, and someday we will look back on this and really be proud of what we accomplished. But not now because it still hurts way too bad. To think we were just three wins away from a championship and didn’t get it done is tough to take today. And it makes it even worse when…
