Hey now, long time- no talk. Hope everyone out there is doing well. Now that this string of road trips is done I should be posting more blogs and there will be some updated Q and A’s in the next couple of days. I literally just got home from California. For those of you that are following the Magic, we are off to a great start- especially on the road. Anytime you go 4-1 on a West Coast swing it ain’t a bad thing. Personally, it was a good trip for me because I saw some playing time and made the most of it. You can never predict if that will lead to more playing time- but I can always hope.
One of the reasons that I played fairly well with my minutes is the fact that I’ve worked as much as possible to “stay ready.” It’s definitely frustrating to get DNPs and/or only play a minute or two in a game. One of our assistants, Bob Beyer, works me out everyday on the road. These workouts have been great for me because they’ve helped me stay sharp. I started doing extra work when I got to college and now it’s just become part of my routine. In fact, I’ll probably head to the gym later today for a little workout even though we have off. I can’t lie to you guys- even though we have had great success early in the season- it’s been tough sitting on the bench. All I want to do is help contribute to wins. After going through my rookie season, I understand a little better how the NBA works. All you can really do is make the most of any opportunity.
We have a couple days without a game and I think it will be good for our team. We just went through one of the toughest stretches of our season and passed with flying colors. I’m actually looking forward to a couple days of practice.
I’ve had a chance to watch a lot of the Duke games so far this season and I’m really impressed by the team. Our win against Wisconsin was dominant. It was definitely fun to watch.
Aight, I’m going to get some rest for a bit. I’ll talk to y’all soon. Let me leave you with this-
My top 5 favorite songs right now-
1) Shiny Toy Guns- “You are the One”
2) Linkin Park- “Shadow of the Day”
3) Alicia Keys- “No One”
4) Atmosphere- “Lyndale Avenue User’s Manual”
5) The Kooks- “Naive”
