Top Fives

Ok, it’s Tuesday afternoon and I’m a little bored so I’m going to respond to some of your top-5 requests. First of all, just to explain a little bit, my brother and I started doing this “top 5″ thing as a joke with each other. For example, we’d be at dinner and I’d say, “Quick, name the top 5 hitters of all-time.” His response, naturally, would be , “Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, me, A-Rod, and Manny Ramirez.” You see, putting “me” in the top-5 list is actually more of a joke than anything else. In other words, I am not actually one of my top-5 favorite actors. Ok, I’m rambling, but I wanted to try and explain. Trust me, I don’t act. And I’ve never flopped on the court, either, haha. (ok, I’ve flopped many times).

Here’s some of my favorite top-5 requests and my answers to them (note: I don’t want to answer all of them- we’ll leave some for later):

-As some of you may know, I’m a pretty big futbol (soccer) fan. Thierry Henry is my guy. Kestrel asked who my top-five favorite futbol clubs are. I can’t include myself.

1. Arsenal (they are still my favorite despite the fact that Henry is now with FC Barcelona. Von Persie is nasty.)
2. FC Barcelona (no explanation needed)
3. InterMilan (talented)
4. LA Galaxy (Beckham)
5. Manchester United (just to make Kestrel happy)

-Philip asked for my top-5 vacation spots that I haven’t been to (but would like to go to in the future)

1. Fiji Islands
2. Croatian Beaches
3. Italy (Florence, Sienna, and of course Rome)
4. Mediterranean (I’m too lazy to check if I spelled that right) cruise
5. Fishing trip in Montana

-a few of you asked for my top-5 songs. I’ll give you my top-5 songs of all-time.

1. Dixieland Delight by Alabama
2. Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey (yes, I’m serious)
3. Can’t Stop This by The Roots
4. Into the Ocean by Blue October
5. Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley

(ok, those maybe aren’t my top 5 but they were the first 5 I thought of. There’s literally millions of songs, give me a break.)

A few also asked for my top-5 Bible verses. That one is a little easier.

1. Joshua 1:9 (tattooed over my heart)
2. Isaiah 40:31 (tattooed on my stomach)
3. Phil. 4:13 (I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me)
4. Romans 3:23-24 (We all have fallen short, we all sin, we all make mistakes, yet through Christ Jesus we are justified. Amazing stuff.)
5. Proverbs 1:7 (When I was eight years old, I got up in the middle of church and read this aloud to the entire congregation. It’s had significant meaning to me ever since.)

There’s many more that almost made the list- Mark 10:31, Mark 11:22-25, Jeremiah 29:11. I could go on. Let me know your favorites. Holler back.

To finish off this random blog I’m going to give you my top-5 sports related events that I want to do (none of these have anything to do with basketball)-

1. Be in Fenway for a Yankees-Red Sox game (preferably in the playoffs)
2. Play a round of golf at St. Andrews
3. Have bleacher seats for an afternoon game at Wrigley
4. Go to a Notre Dame- Michigan game (either venue)
5. Go to the Masters and watch Tiger win it on Sunday

Aight, hope everyone enjoyed those. There should be some new questions answered coming up the rest of the week. Y’all have a great day.

“Ok, so I’ll just call you later.”
“Do you have my number?”
“Yes, I have all of your information.”

I think I butchered that quote- I’ve only seen Superbad once.

Yes, I’m interested in updates!
