Questions of the week

Q: If you got to pick four other professional players to play with for one game who would they be and why (living or dead it doesn’t matter)?

A: If I had to pick four players to play with it would be Michael
Jordan, Tim Duncan, Bill Russell, and Magic Johnson. All these guys
are top 25 players of All-Time and each of them won multiple NBA
championships. If I had to pick a sixth man I would pick Dwight
Howard. He’s a beast.

Q: I’m looking for some inspiration. Any books you can recommend?

A: Books I recommend- try reading Wild at Heart by John Eldredge, The
Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, or Cure for the Common Life by Max
Lucado. They are all great reads. If you’re looking for something a
bit shorter- read Oh, the Places You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss. It’s
phenomenal.

Yes, I’m interested in updates!

Love you JJ! I will pray until next seasons trade deadline that somehow my beloved Pistons take a shine to you this series and call you to come join us here next year in the D. Talk to Chauncey, talk to Rip, talk to Sheed… together we can make this happen!!!

Oh my gosh! I love Oh, the Places You’ll Go. One of my friends got that for our high school graduation, and we sat there reading it over and over for hours (yes, literally). The Purpose Driven Life is also a great book.

JJ, Loved watching you at duke. but i also remember seeing at the summit church. I actually sit beside you one time. I was just wondering how many times did you go there? Hope everything is going well in the nba career. God bless!

Hey JJ im a big Duke fan. you and greg paulus are my fave players. I was wondering are you upset you dont play often? i would love to see you play again but seeing you on the sidelines makes me happy too. Im almost finished the Blue Blood book and I was wondering what you thought of this year’s Duke team? and do Duke players hate UNC players as much as it seems like it the book? Good luck in the payoffs, i’ll be watching like always.

i watched better basketball with you, and you said that repetition will build range… I shot all last summer 1 handed good form, at least 200 shots a day. I don’t even have 3 point range right now. Rick said that with proper mechanics, range should be extremely easy to get. There has to be something i don’t know, and i need your help, please answer.

jj i just committed to duke for mens basketball and am wondering if you come back to campus and work out wit the team at all…if you do it wud be sik to get some pointers on that jumper

David | on 1/4/08

I ‘m a young basketball player and I was just curious about your shot. Obviously you worked very hard on your shot and probably shot hundreds of shot everyday since you were 7 but did your form come naturally or did you receive a lot of instruction in order to develop your form?

Thank you for your time.

I think you’d like a book called the Tipping Point by Macolm Gladwell, it might help you put recent struggles in a different persepective. Either way it’ll make you think.

Amanda | on 31/3/08

Driving up to Cleveland to see you this weekend!! I can’t wait!! Good Luck!

Emily | on 31/3/08

JJ, I saw you play in person in 2004, but I haven’t seen you play in person since. I actually sent you something to sign your senior year but I never got it back. Glad to see you have your own website now!

Beatrice, don’t put yourself down. Go read up on Bill Russell and learn more about sports than the guys!

Doug G (Ohio) | on 30/3/08

Hey JJ

I’m coming up to Cleveland on Sat. April 5th to watch you guys play – 8th row behind the bench (with my Duke hoody on) telling Van Gundy to let you showcase your talents. Afterwards we can catch the NCAA semi-finals? Have a good one.

Bridget | on 30/3/08

JJ, I was in a bar the other night and saw you on Sportscenter and got really excited! Hope all is well and I continue to pray for your brother and your family. Anyways, you’re going to be here in NYC next Sunday against the Knicks (spril 6) and that’s my 21st birthday! If you’re looking for some good after gme grub you should come to Dallas BBQ in Chelsea, 8th and 23rd, and come join the celebration. Not only would that make my birthday, it would make my life. See you then?

Kevin | on 29/3/08

Hey J.J what was it like to be cursed at by all those college fans? Also you were one of the best to ever play at DUKE and not win a national title how does that feel?

Sydney | on 29/3/08

I have a question. So if you could go back and change something in your adult life what would it be?

Jim (Wisconsin) | on 28/3/08

i second the fact about Oh, the Places You’ll Go. Seuss was a straight up genius!

Joe | on 28/3/08

Really nothing to do with the question of the week, but rather the survey. i chose the ’30 pts vs nc st in the acc final’ as my favorite all time jj moment because i was actually there and it was a tremendous game with an awesome come back led by jj. redick was shooting perfect form jumpers from 5 ft in front of half court and making them. it was amazing.

Ramy | on 27/3/08

Do you have a favourite bible verse?

Zach | on 26/3/08

JJ, please sign autographs after the game in Milwaukee on friday. The act will be greatly appreciated. I like your top five but instead of Magic I would choose Pistol Pete Maravich. Hope your brother is doing well.

Will | on 26/3/08

I am a die hard duke fan i loved it when u were there still can believe u didnt win one but anyway what do u think of our early exit from the tournament

pong from philippines | on 26/3/08

Jeff | on 26/3/08

The Purpose Driven Life is a great read!! I’ll have to try the other two. Other great reads include: Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby; Your Spiritual Authority by Charles Capps; and Answered Prayer Guaranteed by Frederick Price. They all helped pick up my spiritual game to a new level!!

Rochelle | on 26/3/08

If I was picking my top five players, I wouldnt pick any girls either, and I’m a girl so I can say that. =)

Drew | on 26/3/08

Are you going to come to the Duke Basketball camp this year?

Beatrice | on 26/3/08

You wouldn’t want to play with any girls….HAHA. I like to think I know a lot about basketball but I don’t think I’ve heard of Bill Russell before. What do I know I’m just a girl…....

Michael Portner | on 26/3/08

Bye XoXoXo…

Jessica | on 25/3/08

Just thought I would tell you that I thought it was super cool that you took the time to sign over 100 autographs last Saturday at the Hawks game. I think it’s great that you haven’t gotten “too big” for your fans. Some of the kids were at that game just to see you and the fact that they got your autograph probably made their year. You’re a great guy. Keep it up.

diana | on 25/3/08
